SxSW Interactive is the first leg of the South by Southwest in Austin Texas. The interactive section takes place March 11-15. Over the 30 year history at SXSW, the festival has grown to provide guests music, film and technology-based events.

Computer programming enthusiasts, healthcare professionals, media producers, marketing socialites, hackers, models, and gamers will all unite in the first five days at SXSW 2016.

SX Health and MedTech Expo will be held on March 12-13 this year. SXSW reported that 5,000 attended the first expo in 2015. Interactive badge holders can access the two day event at the JW Marriott, on 110 East 2nd Street.

In addition, the Trade Show and SXSW Accelerator will be taking center stage during the first leg of SXSW. Connect with companies to find opportunities at The Job Market on March 12-13. The Job Market is an excellent way of residents in Austin, and in nearby areas to get a taste of the festival without being a badge holder. SXstyle is setup for Interactive badge holders.

SXstyle takes over March 11-13 at the Westin Hotel, on the 3rd Floor at 310 E 5th Street. This section of SXSW features:

• Fashion Apps
• Wearable Technologies
• Virtual Components/Future of Retail
• Innovation Design

The festival has organized events for this year in tracks on their main website. It is a smart way to display events that would fit similarly in a curriculum. SxSW Interactive provides ways to meet up with industry professionals, keynote speeches, and a variety of workshops. SXsports will take place in the heart of Austin, Texas. Most programming occurs at the Four Seasons Hotel with some Featured Sessions taking place at the Austin Convention Center.

The Gaming Expo section is technically March 17-19 in the Austin Convention Center. It is held after SxSW Interactive wraps, but those in the area can check this event out without a badge. This section of the festival includes: Geek Stage, Tournament Stage, Indie Corner, Tabletop Experience, Free Play PC Arena.

SXSW also hosts a Convergence Day on Tuesday, March 15. This day contains a large scope of events featuring sessions with badge holders from film, music and interactive. One downside to the festival, is how they spilt up guests to concentrate their time with events.

A perk on Convergence Day is having the opportunity to meet individuals from different industries, as well as the chance to learn aspects about different media industries.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival organizers have announced the 2021 lineup with George Strait, Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Rüfüs Du Sol, DaBaby, Erykah Badu, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Black Pumas, and many more acts set to perform. These acts will hit the stage at Zilker Park on October 1-3 and October 8-10.

Three-day tickets for the event sold out within a few hours, but the event will be selling a select amount of single-day tickets on Tuesday, May 25 starting at 12:00 p.m. CST.

The festival will host over 90 live acts and will be at at full capacity this fall to celebrate its 20^th Anniversary. Festival organizers have noted the following:

‘The safety of fans, artists and staff remains our top priority. ACL Fest organizers are in regular communication with local health and public safety officials and will follow current recommendations and guidelines at the time of the festival. As the weekends approach, ACL Fest patrons will receive regular updates with important information regarding safety policies and procedures before entering Zilker Park.’

‘Learn more about getting FREE vaccine without an appointment or registration at AustinTexas.gov/Covid19-vaccines or if you are coming from out of town, visit Vaccines.gov to find the nearest vaccine provider near you.’

ACL Festival has just announced their 2022 lineup with the Red Hot Chili Peppers making an appearance during their world stadium tour. The festival will take place October 7-9 and 14-16 in Austin, Texas at Zilker Park.

The festival and KVUE.com has noted that weekend 1 passes have sold out a few hours after being released. At this time, weekend 2 passes are still available. Single day passes will be released at a later date.

There will be 8 stages available to absorb live music from over 110 acts. A quick list of the acts so far announced include:

Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!nk, The Chicks, SZA, Kacey Musgraves, Flume, Paramore, Lil Nas X, Phoenix, Diplo, Lil Durke, Nathaniel Rateliff, Billy Strings, James Blake, The War On Drugs, Spoon, Big Gigantic, Sofi Tukker, and Japanese Breakfast.

Deep in the Heart Film Festival will be taking place live in Waco, Texas, this July 21-24. The event will be available to experience online from July 24-30.

There will be films produced from 15 different countries, with over two dozen World Premieres and Texas Premieres. The festival creates a spotlight for independent film producers to share their stories with larger audiences. Similar to the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW, this festival brings the action from the big screen to the Waco Hippodrome.

The festival started screening films in 2016 and has presented a mix of genres each year within the Austin district in downtown Waco. Scope out the festival’s schedule to see the movies and events taking place.

ACL Fest is taking place at Zilker Park on October 7-9 and 14-16, with over 110 performing acts. The headliners this year include The Chicks, P!nk, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Each year festival goers flood Zilker Park to experience live music from artists that travel from all over the globe. A piece of the excitement of attending ACL Fest is finding new music acts.

The festival this year includes a wide array of artists from different musical genres. This preview contains artists from the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Canada, and additional locations. In 2021, the festival hosted 7 stages that presented live music from noon to 10 p.m. The daily schedule has currently been announced, but the detailed schedule is still in the works.

Ryan Bingham and the Texas Gentleman performed in Fort Worth on February 2 and 3. Both shows were sold out and the venue was packed with good spirits.

This marked my second time seeing Ryan Bingham perform live. In 2013, he performed at the Hangout Music Festival, and I was able to interview him at the festival. He is such a gracious soul. I’ve been digging his work on Yellowstone and have been looking for the right opportunity to catch his live show.

A few highlights were present on February 3rd, and they include:

• The room in the pit to see the show was spacious.
• The crowd was extremely pleasant and fun to engage with overall.
• Billy Bob’s Texas staff is professional, kind, and supportive.
• Texas High Road performed first on the Honky Tonk Stage and was delightful.
• Members from the Texas Gentlemen performed with Ryan Bingham during his set.
• Ryan Bingham performed a cover of ‘Whipping Post’ by The Allman Brothers Band.
• Ryan Bingham performed an expanded version of ‘Boracho Station’.
